English description A christian student association, characterized by fun and study. The study character is expressed in Bible studies, study groups and lectures. The Civitas Studiosorum in Fundamento Reformatorum is a christian student association which is based on the legacy of the Reformation. The association is located in nine different cities in the whole country. The department in Delft, Johannes Calvijn, is one of them. Johannes Calvijn has approximately 70 active members, who really care about each other. C.S.F.R. is a suitable place to meet new friends in the new situation of being a student. Together, we study the Bible and learn to stand for our convictions and belief. Together with other members, we look for answers on questions which are important to us. Our student association makes it also possible to spread your wings by giving the possibility to study certain subjects and participate in committees. This comes together with a lot of fun during get-togethers, weekends and joint meals. On general meetings of members, decisions are made concerning the state of affairs and the policy of the association board. Besides that, a lot of spontaneous contacts and activities make our association what it is.

D.S.W.Z. Broach (Delftse Studenten Wedstrijd Zeilvereniging Broach) is the student competitive sailing association in Delft. To be exact, we are the only student sailing association in the Netherlands that focuses on competitive sailing. Due to this unique focus, our association is composed of motivated and enthusiastic sailors. As an independent sports association, Broach provides students with the opportunity to sail competitively at any level and at affordable cost. Whether you want to sail several weekends per year, improve your skills, participate in the weekly local competition or train for the world championships, it’s possible at Broach! Next to sailing, a large aspect of our association is creating friendships, socializing, and creating room for personal development. After all, we are a student sailing association! Every Tuesday, the members meet for drinks in the Ruif and different activities throughout the year keep friendships and contacts going strong. Two famous and yearly recurring activities are the Broach After Winter-sport Special Beer Festivity (BAWSBF) and the Christmas dinner. Should you be bursting with energy after your sailing activities and would you like to contribute to Broach and be more active within the association, there are many committees that allow you to create, plan and organize different events. The Kolk committee is a great example, organizing the ‘Slag om Delft’ every year. Like to network? Join the sponsor committee! More the partying and BBQ type of person? The Akcie (Activity committee) is your new home! Prefer to show off your workshop skills and keep the boats in perfect condition? The fleet committee would love to have you. There’s a spot for everyone in Broach! Broach provides the perfect balance between sailing and the social aspects expected in a student association. Do you like to sail and have a good time? Then Broach is perfect for you! Over Broach

Do you want to work out during your student days, and also experience the conviviality of a student association? Then DSBA-USSR is the place for you! Of course, badminton is a very important aspect of our association. Every Tuesday night trainings are provided for all levels. You can also choose to participate in the competition; in a team you play matches against teams from other clubs. The matches usually take place during the weekend, and an extra training is provided for competition players on Thursday night. Our players also regularly participate in tournaments, we usually go with a large group such that we always have fun! Apart from being a badminton club, USSR is also a student association. Every month the SoCo (Social Committee) organizes an activity in which every member can participate if they want. Examples of such activities are a barbecue, ice-skating, a treasure hunt, a Christmas dinner, or just drink a beer after the training in the pub of the sports centre. The activities form the perfect platform to get to know one another better and make new friends. We also organize a weekend away each year for all members.

Delft Career Platform

Prior to the launch of Delft Career Platform, students in Delft had no unified platform dedicated to offering a quick online way of finding job opportunities tailored to their interests. Internships, graduation projects, and jobs were scattered all over the place, and instead of getting inspired by the job hunt, seeking out the perfect opportunity was a chore. Now, all of these are conveniently collected in a single place, and the TU Delft student is well equipped to connect with industry. The Delft Career Platform empowers the TU Delft, its students, companies, and the entire Dutch industry. Delft Career Platform is run by students from the study associations of Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Molecular Science & Technology. Previously dedicated primarily to their own faculty, this platform is a prime example of transcending collaboration. This collaboration allows the Platform to cover all interests of all students in Delft and is thus the ideal platform for discovering your passions. Delft Career Platform has internships, graduation projects, and jobs, for all students in Delft.

Lacrosse is a fast-paced ball sport incorporating speed, technique, and team spirit. One of the great things about lacrosse is that it is mainly played by university students, so as a beginner you can get to the same level as your team mates more quickly than some other sports as we almost all start playing at university! At Delft Lacrosse we are passionate about our sport and love welcoming new people to the game. We have 4 teams (2 men’s and 2 women’s), men’s lacrosse is full contact and players have to wear helmets and body protectors, women’s lacrosse is less physical so a gum shield is normally sufficient. We train twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evening at X in TU Delft and each team is part of a league where we play matches against a host of different clubs and universities. We are more than just a sports club though as we regularly meet for drinks at our local hangout and our amazing committees organise special events throughout the year including cocktail evenings, dinner parties, weekend trips, and even a gala. So, if any of this takes your fancy do get in touch or come along to a practice, we would love to meet you and introduce you the exciting world of lacrosse!

The Graduation Community Program - 3mE aims to create a cohesive community for graduating master’s students at TU Delft's Faculty of Mechanical, Maritime, and Materials Engineering. It brings you peer-to-peer opportunities for self-management, learning, and improvement to tackle the challenges in your graduation. With a focus on student well-being and success, the GCP offers practical, emotional, and social support through interactive journey sessions. The GCP consists of two main elements: 1. Kick-Off Day The Kick-Off Day marks the beginning of the GCP. In this session, the graduating student groups are formed. Students meet and get to know their graduation group and define their own rules and activities. This session is a great opportunity to build connections that last throughout the graduation period. The program motivates groups to meet regularly and have in-depth conversations. 2. Journey Sessions Bi-weekly, sessions are held on various topics given by different facilitators. For example, sessions on planning or dealing with failure and stress are organised. Graduation groups or students (by themselves) can participate in these sessions and reflect with their peers on their graduation project. The GCP starts every November and March with a Kick-Off Day, for which you can sign up voluntarily.

In addition, as a progressive party, we see it as our goal to also take into consideration Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability. In this way we hope that everyone can get the most out of their time at TU Delft. We are also involved with events such as: debates, well-being events, talks etc. We collaborate a lot with study and student associations, especially with DISS (Delft International Student Society).

The Muslim Student Association (MSA) Ibn Firnas is a student association based at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. Founded in ShaÊżbān 1426 (September 2005) by three Aerospace Engineering students, the association now has well over a hundred members from various backgrounds and all walks of life. Our name references ÊżAbbās bin Firnās, an Andalusian polymath who lived during the Islamic Golden Age and is credited with the first successful flight – al be it with not the best landing. Today, a crater on the moon bears his name in honor of his contributions to science. His engineering and courage brought humanity to a higher level. MSA Ibn Firnas is the only Muslim student association in Delft. Besides this, our members are known to come from all over the world. Hence the reason we have almost all our activities in English. This diversity allows for a greater ability to build one's network and exchange knowledge and ideas. This is especially important as a student because in this bright environment, one might just invent the next great thing. Our association is very diverse yet we stand united as Muslim students. We organize events and activities, welcoming you with a warm smile. This also includes non-muslims or anybody who is interested in Islam. So say salām!

The ORganisation of RAtional Students is the oldest party on the Central Student Council, with over 44 years of experience. Therefore, we have a lot of experience in dealing with long-term projects based on a clear vision. As Student Council party, we are involved in a lot of different aspects in the universities administrative system. Based on our vision, we focus on three different portfolio’s: Education, Facilities and Student Affairs. The yearly policy of ORAS has to meet the vision of our party. It should be clear what ORAS stands for, who we represent and where we put our focus, no matter our number of seats in the student council. As follows from our vision, ORAS stands for the motivated student who is active in the student culture of Delft and who wants more than study alone. According to ORAS, the “student of Delft” is a concept. Delft distinguishes itself from other cities by its unique student life.

Indonesian Student Association, known as Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia Delft (PPI Delft), was established in 1963 by the initiation of Indonesian students studying at Delft. PPI Delft is an independent association affiliated with other Indonesian Student Associations throughout the Netherlands. Besides organizing local activities for Indonesian students in Delft, PPI Delft regularly executes several activities together with Indonesian Associations from different regions in the Netherlands. As an association, PPI Delft stands and connects as a bridge between Indonesian students and the Indonesian Embassy. We periodically organize our social gatherings, sports, and leisure activities to make the students feel at home. We understand that sometimes it is difficult to handle the feeling of studying abroad and being far away from family. Therefore, becoming a home for Indonesian students in Delft is also our limelight. Furthermore, we also organize a regular colloquium with intriguing topics in order to enhance and broaden the knowledge of Indonesian students. We believe this movement has become a way to improve and trigger the development of science and technology in Indonesia. To know more about our recent activities and any open collaborations, please reach out, follow, and stay tuned to our social media!

Project MARCH

Project MARCH is a student team committed to improving the quality of people with paraplegia. Each year a team of 26 students is ready to take on this challenge by developing and creating an exoskeleton. This is a robotic suit attached to the outside of one’s body. It enables someone with paraplegia to stand up and walk again. The person that controls the exoskeleton is who we call the pilot. We believe in co-creation with our pilot since we value the user of our exoskeleton. Therefore, user-friendliness is one of our priorities in our design throughout the year. This year we are busy taking the next steps in developing a ‘smart’ exoskeleton. We want to accomplish to by using depth cameras that scan the surroundings. The software processes this information. So, the exoskeleton can make suggestions to the pilot for his next move. The exoskeleton is as it was reacting to its surroundings. This is the next step to eventually implement exoskeleton technology in the daily life of our users. So, we can improve the quality of life of people with paraplegia.

S.A. LIFE is the study association for students Life Science & Technology (LST). LST was founded in 1999 by a collaboration between Leiden University and Delft University of Technology. The combination of the two universities gave, as often said, “the best of both worlds”: fundamental cell biology in Leiden together with applied biotechnology in Delft. Study association LIFE was founded at the same time as the study LST. Although S.A. LIFE began with only thirty members at the time, LIFE has currently, twenty years later, grown into an association with more than 800 members. It is for these members, consisting of students of the bachelor program or the Leiden or Delft master program, that the study association forms a platform for career, education and social activities.
