Dutch Mountains are in for sports and social time. Cycling and mountain biking is possible on any level. We have two trainings per week. Besides sports, we have monthly activities and members weekends and more than enough fun in between!

Effective Altruism Maastricht is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the students of our university to do as much good as possible in the long-term. We want to put our members in the best position to find and implement solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems by providing the necessary knowledge, skills and career capital.

The Green Office at Maastricht University is a team of 5 students working together with the university on sustainability related topics: Together to make UM more sustainable.

INKOM is the general introduction week of Maastricht for all new students in Maastricht.

ISAP stands for 'International Student Ambassador Programme', also known as the UM Buddy Programme. This initiative, run by the Student Services Centre attempts to help new students adapt to life in Maastricht by pairing you and a group of other new students, with a buddy (a current student at UM) during your first weeks in the city. Your buddy will be there to guide you through the process, help you settle in and make the switch to university in the Netherlands easier for you. In addition, the ISAP team organises various social activities for you and your buddy to take part in, giving you the opportunity to meet other new international students and get to discover Maastricht in a fun way.

Kaleido is an inclusive student community gradually taking shape. In its final form, Kaleido will be the location for internationally-minded people to meet. A space where everyone feels welcome and is free to express themselves creatively. In the meantime, we focus on creating one-of-a-kind connections. We invite all students to get involved and shape Kaleido together.

We have trainings every Tuesday and Thurday, from 19:00 until 20:30. We have something for everyone: a runner's group who go off track once a week and do intervals the other day, and a technical group who do sprints and events like javelin and long jump. Besides that, we also have one fun activity like a beertasting, karaoke night, dinner at the track every week. Due to the relatively small number of members, the group is quite close, but we are always open to new members: the more the merrier!

MFA Placebo is the Faculty Association for students of FPN at Maastricht University. We organise fun and educational activities and offer good deals for students.

We are an official student association registered at the University of Maastricht. Our name is Muslim Student Association (MSA) Nour and we focus on the Islamic identity of students here in Maastricht. Our aim is to build bridges between Muslim and non-muslim students. We organize social events and i.a. charity projects and fundraisers for different causes.

Maastrichtse Studenten Alpen Club, or MaasSAC for short, is the student climbing association of Maastricht. With currently around a 100 members, we are a group of outdoor enthusiasts who like to climb, hike and enjoy student life. Whether you like alpinism, bouldering or rock climbing, MaasSAC is the place to be! Apart from climbing, we organize social events, like board game evenings, laser tag or just going for some drinks after climbing. So besides getting fit, you will also get the most out of your student life here in Maastricht!

Maastricht Students For Liberty is a non-profit student organization with the goal of promoting economic, personal and academic freedom. MSFL is a forum for intellectual debate about the ideas of liberty, promoting classical liberalism by encouraging local organization and regional networking of consciously liberty-dedicated personalities, mutual support, argumentation proficiency and forming a sense of community. We are port SFL which is a global network of international and liberty-dedicated students.

Maastricht Summer School (MSS) was founded in 2012 and offers courses in a variety of fields and disciplines. Our courses are geared towards students at undergraduate/bachelor level, graduate/master level and professionals.

The Maastricht University Choir was founded in 1977 and counts approximately eighty members. Our members comprise a diverse and international group of students, people working at Maastricht University, and other enthusiasts. Our singers represent over thirteen countries!The University Choir sings and performs a broad repertoire including classical, contemporary, folkloric and modern music. We try to strike a balance between well-known songs and less known ones during bi-yearly concerts. The programs are as colorful as our membership!We are proud of our strong ‘group spirit’. Being an open-minded and sociable community, we connect through singing as well as out-of-rehearsal activities. Besides, we enjoy bringing music to people at other events, such charities or Christmas markets.

Maastricht for Climate is a local branch of the global climate movement. Together we fight for climate justice and more sustainability.

PES initiates discussions and conversations on the topic of Political Economy between people from different backgrounds, creates a strong community, and prepares our students for a bright future.

We are a non profit organization connecting refugees, international students and local residents. Our goal is for people to feel at home in Maastricht, no matter where they come from or how they got here.

We are Study Association Helix, founded in September 1993, the association for both bachelor and master students of Biomedical Sciences. Throughout the entire year, we organize all sorts of events, ranging from education-related activities, such as pubquizzes and information drinks, to social events such as course opening parties, an excursion and Christmas dinner. We also offer discounts on books via Dominicanen Library and labcoats. A membership is without obligations so that you can decide what kind of member you want to be!

The science and Engineering Association Limburg provides a hub for students at the Maastricht University Faculty of Science and Engineering to come together by organizing social and academic events with relevant stakeholders in the region.

The mission of START Maastricht is to foster entrepreneurial thinking amongst students in Maastricht and the surrounding area! START Maastricht organizes evens and activities to support personal growth, learning from each other and from external partners, as well as networking with like-minded people, both locally and globally. As part of the global START Network, we are connected to a web of hundreds of founders, investors, experts and entrepreneurially minded students across Europe. The annual START Summit, and the events leading up to it, result in the biggest student run conference of Europe.

We are a student boardsports association. We are passionate about skiing, surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, skating, and so on! Every year we organize ski trips and surfing trips. Next to the boardsports activities, we have some weekly activities such as yoga classes (to increase muscle flexibility, relax, etc.), workouts, and Stoked nights.

S.A. Fugax is one of the youngest non-traditional student associations known to Maastricht. Founded in September of 2022, we started as no more than a thought. Although Maastricht offers a lively student life, the founders felt something was missing. A space for students who want to get more than partying out of student life; a space that offers a place to students who enjoy hot cocoa and a book on a rainy afternoon; a space for potter-heads, D&D lovers, readers, gamers, artists and so much more.

The Student Project Team (SPT) is a group of four students tasked with ensuring that the Maastricht University (UM) services will be student-friendly. We work as a body under the UM Student Services Centre (SSC), advise university departments on their projects and organise our own projects and events.

Maastricht University’s Student Services Centre (SSC) supports students with a wide range of issues related to studying and student life. This includes topics such as application, registration, tuition fees and diploma recognition, but you can also contact the SSC for legal advice on a study related issue, career advice or help from a psychologist. In addition to providing students with help, the SSC supports several organisations that organise extracurricular activities, such as the INKOM, the sports council MUSST and Studium Generale.

Students Fight Cancer is a new concept that was established in 2019 and is part of Kankeronderzoeksfonds Limburg. The Students Fight Cancer board consists of eight Maastricht based students, who are committed to cancer research in addition to their studies.

Studium Generale offers a programme of lectures, debates and talkshows, lecture series, film-, theatre, and poetry night's and organises the yearly PAS Festival.

Hailing from 13th century Spain and Portugal, the Tuna is a medieval tradition wherein students would come together to play music in exchange for food and shelter while travelling to university. As a modern continuation of this bardic tradition, we no longer play to fend off starvation, but are instead motivated by our love of tradition and adventure. Should you happen to visit Maastricht, you'll likely come across us playing music in our signature blue and black livery. With performances consisting of music, dance, and general revelry, the Tuna de Maastricht has brought joy to all she has encountered and now… we shall be honored to encounter you.

The United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT) is a research and training institute of the United Nations University (UNU) which collaborates closely with Maastricht University.

We are a symphonic orchestra of about 60 students, academics, and associates of Maastricht University and Hogeschool Zuyd. Our rehearsals are every Monday evening from 20:00-22:15 at the ‘Harmoniezaal St. Petrus & Paulus’ in Maastricht (Tongerseweg 336, Maastricht). Since we have many international members, you will hear our conductor Raymond Spons mostly speak English during rehearsals, with some Dutch and Limburgs mixed in as well. We usually have 2 programs per year, with pieces varying from Beethoven to Dvorák and concerts in and around Maastricht.

The Wellbeing Movement (WBM) is an initiative promoting physical and mental wellbeing at Maastricht University (UM). We are here to give you tools towards a healthy and happy student life.

uniMIND is an international network of academic journal clubs focused on psychedelic research and altered states of consciousness. Our main focus is to connect individuals interested in learning more about psychedelics and their therapeutic potential. We meet up regularly to have discussions about different publications from this field of study. Sometimes, we are even joined by senior academics who discuss their own publications or research projects.
