This student-led event, centered on “Women in Leadership” , will delve into the journeys of accomplished women leaders, providing valuable insights for aspiring professionals. Our panel will also explore the crucial, yet often overlooked, topic of maternity and leadership, offering a platform for candid conversations and shared experiences. Event details 📍 Theil CB-3, Erasmus University Rotterdam 🗓️ Wednesday, May 29th, from 17:00 to 18:30 🍸 Networking drinks from 18:30 onwards The Panel Hanneke Takkenberg Hanneke is a professor at Rotterdam School of Management and Executive Director of the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations. At Erasmus MC, Prof. Takkenberg has worked to improve healthcare for women for patients and working conditions for female medical doctors. She researches gender differences in cardiovascular interventions and has been recognized with the Els Borst and Caty Asscher awards for her work in improving healthcare and promoting gender diversity. Hanneke has also chaired the Dutch Network for Women Professors from 2018 to 2022. Julia Hart With over 25 years at Fortune 500 companies and large multinationals, Julia excels in corporate communications and executive coaching. She is the owner of Hart Communications & Coaching and previously served as Director of Corporate Communications at Nutreco and VP of External Communications at Liberty Global. Her career includes significant roles at AkzoNobel, Ahold, and Royal Philips Electronics, consistently demonstrating their expertise in building and protecting reputations through integrated communications. Julia also takes pride in “helping women be ultra successful in business while remaining their authentic selves”. Minke Bijl Minke is the owner of La Passerelle Consultancy, specializing in creating impactful communications and building strong reputations for leaders and organizations. With extensive experience in global businesses such as Unilever, DSM, and Schiphol Group, Minke excels in supporting change programs, M&A, restructuring, and crisis management. She was also deeply involved in the merger of the two companies DSM and Firmenich. Augustina Austin Augustina is an expert in branding and marketing communications, leading BYAustin consultancy. A skilled communicator, she’s worked at places like Babbage Company and the Hague International Centre. She has also hosted “Africa on Focus”, a radio program in Hiradionl, where she discussed how young Africans impact the African economy and reshape the world view of Africa in different fields. Beyond business, she likes to share her expertise in Digital Marketing and empower entrepreneurship in Africa. Truus Huisman Truus is a purpose-driven communications and sustainability expert with extensive experience across diverse sectors, including tourism, consumer goods, and water management. Currently serving as Chief Communications Officer at IKEA Foundation, Truus has a strong strategic communications, external affairs, and crisis management background. Her career highlights include leadership roles at Unilever, where she served as VP Sustainable Business and Communications Europe, among other positions. With a commitment to putting people at the heart of everything, Truus aims to drive sustainable business practices globally. She also serves as a guest lecturer at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
