Description We are looking for you, an ambitious master's or bachelor's student (m/f), to support our Finance organization by doing an internship project in Tax Department at our location in Terneuzen (NL) . Your internship will be within the Tax Operations EMEAI organization . The department has around 30 employees, most of them located in Terneuzen (NL). We are responsible for all taxes for all Dow legal entities in this region. In total these are over 100 registrations in more than 30 countries. One of the roles we have is Tax Analyst . In this role, you are responsible for handling the VAT, Intrastat and ESL (European Sales Listing) filings for most of the EMEA countries. The activities include ECC (SAP) data review, preparation of the VAT, Intrastat and ESL returns as well as filing the returns. Tax Ops is also handling the VAT payments and following up on questions and audits from the Tax authorities regarding VAT, Intrastat, and ESL. Tax is part of the Terneuzen Finance department, which has several other functions like: Treasury, Cost accounting, Financial and Statutory, Invoicing, and Internal audit. Project description During the internship period the following subjects will be covered: Learning SAP system. Mainly to review Accounts payable and Accounts receivable invoices, review General ledger account balances, check journal entries Preparation of the VAT reconciliation data in Athena Tax tool Preparation of the VAT payment request if applicable Filing of the Vat return Preparation and filing of Intrastat data Preparation and filing of European Sales Listing data Follow up on corrective postings as a result of the VAT reconciliation Preparing Balance sheet account reconciliations and clearing of GL accounts Connect with other Dow departments like Financial & Statutory, Invoice to Cash, Procure to Pay, Customs and Treasury. Use tools like SAP, Office, SharePoint (Tax portal), Athena (tax software) Qualifications You are currently in the 3rd year of your bachelor's degree, or you are pursuing your master's in accounting preferably including Tax subjects. You have a good working knowledge of English and other EU languages like German, French etc. is considered a plus. You can start in September 2023 for a period of 5 to 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
