The Job

About the Role This role is to join our Strategic Finance Development Program (SFDP) at Uber which is especially geared toward recent graduates who have a passion for learning all aspects of Finance business partnership and financial planning and analysis. You will be part of the team supporting Uber's different lines of business, being in a unique position with insight into the overall global business. SFDP will allow you to jumpstart your Finance career in a truly global company by building your network and learning from seasoned finance and business leaders. You will be driving and supporting our company-wide financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis efforts that touch every single area of the business. Your work and the insights you build will drive real time business decisions and help Uber to continue to grow, scale and become more profitable, while also creating more opportunities for the many thousands of courier, restaurants and drivers that use our platform daily. The SFDP is a two-year rotational programproviding a breadth of core financial and analytical skills as well as interpersonal and stakeholder management skills that will serve as an excellent foundation for a career in finance and strategic business partnering at Uber. The program is based at our Amsterdam headquarters and includes exposure to four areas of our business. Upon completion, SFDPs move into non-rotating Associate roles within Uber. What You’ll Do Financial Planning: work closely with the Strategic Finance team on financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis Apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision making related to new initiatives, products, and business opportunities Financial modeling - build models from scratch, improve existing models and leverage these to review various scenarios, calculate financial returns and forecast growth, cost and profit; Execution excellence: Partner with your team to execute on projects and operationalize our insights Work closely with accounting to provide input on management reporting needs and better understand our actuals; Develop your understanding of SQL and “big data” and use this to build reports and sophisticated financial analysis/models; Special projects and deal support; Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical abilities; Basic Qualifications Currently enrolled or just graduated from a Bachelors or Masters degree or similar (graduation in Spring/Summer 2023) with a concentration in Business Finance / Accounting / Engineering or similar quantitative degree; Leadership positions in extracurricular groups or activities Available to start on 1st of August 202 Preferred Qualifications Prior analytical internship experience in investment banking, management consulting or corporate finance Solid understanding of enter enterprise-level financial planning systems and/or SQL Outstanding communication skills, growth mindset, high bias for action and ability to take ownership and execute Thrive in a dynamic, changing environment Proven passion and curiosity about analytics, planning and business insights Outstanding analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel Ability to structure effective presentations Please note:Working rights are required for The Netherlands (No sponsorship available) Timeline Accepting applications: February-March 2023 Interviews with recruiter 1st-15th of March Interviews with the team : starting from 15th of March to beginning of May About the Team The Strategic Finance team is a global and inclusive team that excels at combining strategy and real numbers.
