The Job

In addition to its own products, BASF Española S.L. markets more than 5,000 products from the BASF Group: chemical, organic and inorganic products, catalysts; phytosanitary products, plastic materials, dispersions and raw materials for the inks, paints, plastics, paper, ceramics and cosmetics industry. RESPONSIBILITIES Within the QEHS Department for the Tarragona Site, the candidate will perform the following tasks: Coordinate Quality, Environment, Health, Occupational Safety, Emergency Response & Security, Technical Inspection, Permits topics and RC Activities of the Tarragona Site. Leading the corresponding team, leading QEHS activities at site level and coordinating embedded and GBS activities in safety. Translate QEHS legal and corporate requirements into site requirements. Define minimum requirements at site level, inform site departments, support for implementation and monitoring. For requirements and activities at site level, lead and coordinate QEHS activities in order to ensure LTO, supporting other departments. Advise and support site management with respect to the Site's LTO, legal compliance and QEHS/RC matters. Foster preventive actions and continuous improvement of the Site in quality, sustainability, environment and safety. Identify improvement opportunities in those areas. Promote QEHS/RC training activities to fulfil the Site's request. Define minimum requirements at site level. Coordinator of the specialties Health, Emergency Response, Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene of Shared Preventive Service (SPM) at the Tarragona site, under the oversight of the chief coordinator of the SPM of BASF Group in Iberia. Representative of the management in the Integrated Management System of the Tarragona Site. Support and collaborate in the provision of QEHS services to departments (BASF and resident companies) at Tarragona site. Internal and external representation of Tarragona site in quality, health, environment, safety and permit matters in front of the authorities, associations and other companies (or equivalent). QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor or Master in Science, Engineering, additional MBA or studies in QEHS area are a plus. More than 5 years in Production, Engineering, Maintenance of a chemical industry or similar. Experience in various positions in chemical or similar industry in the mentioned areas. Preferably knowledge of environment, safety, project management, legal requirements, sustainability. General knowledge of legal aspects and regulations. Leadership skills and experience. Coordination skills, communication with internal and external contracts, associations and administration. Negotiation skills and entrepreneurship. Strong proficiency of English and Spanish.
