Internship Subject: Next generation technology for solar Inverter in smart grid infrastructure As photo-voltaic solar installations continues to grow rapidly over the last decade, the need for solar ecosystem with higher efficiency, improved power density, more connectivity and reliability continue to increase. With a semiconductor market in constant evolution, new technologies that enables those features in solar systems arises, representing high revenue opportunity for TI at our key industrial customer. Your goal during this internship will be to tackle those new opportunities in signal chain and power conversion area, by prototyping, testing, and comparing newest TI solutions with what currently exists on the market. Exchange with industry experts and report your findings both internally and to customers. The project will be exploiting several TI new technologies: Gallium Nitride power switches New contactless hall effect sensor TI real time controller technology C2000 Current sensing in harsh environment Digital & power isolation to replace relays Digital isolation to replace Optocouplers The internship mission revolves around 3 guiding steps: the rest of the project will be defined together with the intern: Build your own understanding of this new solar ecosystem and how it is interfacing with a more connected grid infrastructure. Evaluate new semiconductor technology that TI can propose for the key function of this ecosystem, and compare it versus what our competition is currently proposing from a technical & price perspective Ideally design and assemble at least one PCB to showcase costumer the technical advantages of TI solution You will lead the project definition and the level of difficulty as well as what you want to spend time on, from using premade building blocks to designing them, from focusing mostly on software or hardware with the guiding hand of local application engineers and TI system experts. The team you will join: In this role you'll be part of a team of and field application Engineers and account managers based in Issy-Les-Moulineaux who are working with key industrial & automotive customers to generate revenue growth. This is achieved by working closely with our costumer, identifying early projects and working closely with the R&D to solve their engineering design challenges at the right cost. Minimum Requirements: Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications: Enrolled in Electrical engineering Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently as a team member Strong technical skills Strong communication & ability to present Experience with schematic design and layout is preferred Other information specific to the role (i.e. % travel...) Support the field sales and field application engineer to visit customers and solve their design challenges If successful during your internship it may lead to you being hired as a graduate Analog Field Applications Engineer or Technical Sales Representative in 2023.
