Visit: group.springernature.com and follow @SpringerNature We are looking for a Business Analyst (BA) to work within the Springer Nature Global Business Systems team. The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders from the Publishing Performance and Intelligence Group (PP&I) to help deliver next generation digital publishing at Springer Nature and support the division's ambitious growth targets. A strong focus on communication and broad stakeholder engagement is required together with an ability to blend technical, operational and procedural considerations. Key tasks: Work with key business stakeholders to collect, analyse and document business, functional and data requirements in a structured manner Define deliverables, use cases and test cases and provide a strong business benefits case Develop a solid understanding of Springer Nature processes and systems, as well as their relationship with and potential impact on projects. Document outputs in a clear and structured format that allow stakeholders to review, feed back and approve Work with product vendors, implementation partners, and internal technology teams to ensure they deliver robust technical specifications and solutions that meet requirements Play an integral role in developing use cases for testing and participate in the testing of the solution to ensure it supports the new business processes Produce supporting materials, help conduct training and support the business users during the system implementation, as necessary, in order to guarantee successful adoption/support of the project deliverables, new business processes and system functions Support the business product owner, or when necessary, act as in that role, in order to ensure that all stakeholders' needs are taken into account and correctly represented Communicate with stakeholders, in an appropriate format, to ensure that they are provided with the required level of information for decision making, kept well informed of project progress (e.g. organising insight sessions and/or demos) Skills/knowledge: A good understanding of the publishing landscape (essential) An understanding of the journal publishing workflow (desirable) Experience of working in an agile environment, particularly within a publishing or media business Experience working in a project delivery environment alongside Project Managers, business stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and other internal technology resources Previous experience of operating in both technical and non technical environments Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analysis principles, practices and techniques including use case collection across a broad stakeholder group, requirements definition and process/workflow mapping Understanding of project management principles Ability to present and communicate technology led opportunities to the business Sound self-organization and planning skills Strong written, oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills High attention to detail Proven ability as a proactive self-starter who can anticipate project demands and proactively address the needs of the team and stakeholders Good knowledge of some of: Jira Miro/Visio or other workflow mapping tools Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 suite #LI-SS2 At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
