Master Thesis / PhD in Machine Learning for Microscopy Imaging (f/m/d) The Machine Learning Research group from Bayer R&D is seeking a passionate and creative student (f/m/d) to join our team in Berlin and support our computer vision activities. The position will focus on feature extraction from microscopy images. YOUR TASKS AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Apply state-of-the-art deep learning methods for image-based cellular phenotyping Support the analysis of public and in-house Cell Painting image sets Write clean and efficient code in Python Collaborate with data scientists and biologists to gain insights from imaging data Work in a highly interdisciplinary and cross-organizational team Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and deep learning techniques and their applications for drug discovery WHO YOU ARE Enrolled master or PhD student in computer science, computational biology, machine learning, mathematics, or a related field with a sincere interest for the life sciences Previous experience with machine learning Strong Python programming and software development skills Comfortable working in Unix environments Experience in HPC or cloud computing would be an additional asset Highly creative person with outstanding problem-solving abilities and the drive to undertake challenging tasks Strong interpersonal skills, Very good English, both written and spoken We are a young and international team of scientists passionate about exploring how machine learning can help in different aspects of drug discovery and development.
